Tην Παρασκευή  14 Νοεμβρίου 2014 και ώρα 09:00 – 14:00 στο Σχολείο Δεύτερης Ευκαιρίας Βόλου (Συγκρότημα  Μουρτζούκου, Χείρωνος & Επτά Πλατανίων) (έγκριση,  αρ.πρωτ:10122/22-10-2014) υλοποιήθηκε επιμόρφωση για τους εκπαιδευτικούς α/θμιας Ν. Μαγνησίας με θέματα:

INTRODUCING THE SPEAKERS on 14^th November 2014

My name is Vasiliki Papaioannou and Ι am the new State School Advisor for the prefecture of Magnesia for 2014-15. I have been an EFL teacher for more than 20 years with a range of teaching experience in primary, secondary, higher adult and vocational education and I have also worked in British summer schools and British Universities teaching EFL and English for Academic Purposes. My BA is in English language and literature (1993) – by Aristotle University of Thessalonica, my MA is in English Language teaching (2001) – by University of Warwick, UK and my Doctorate is in International Education, Teacher Education and Applied Linguistics (2008) - by University of Warwick, UK. I am an accredited adult educator (2012) and I hold the Certificate for Guiding and Pedagogic Efficiency (2014) (both by the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government). I have also had school management duties too.

I have initiated and coordinated school projects for which I have been awarded and I have published theme-based lesson plans on Slideshare which you might find interesting.  Last summer (2014) I completed an intensive course about Teaching English for Academic purposes (TEAP) at SOAS, University of London in which 3 portfolio tasks were completed: EAP classroom observations, adapting materials to EAP students' needs and assessment of EAP writing.

 The areas that I am mainly interested in are: ELT/TESOL, teacher education, staff development, e-learning, syllabus design, International education and EAP. Λίνος Βίγκλας

Απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Αγγλικής Γλώσσας και Φιλολογίας του Α.Π.Θ. και κάτοχος Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης του Π.Μ.Σ. «Σύγχρονα Περιβάλλοντα Μάθησης και Παραγωγή Διδακτικού Υλικού», του ΠΤΔΕ του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας. Καθηγητής Αγγλικών στη ∆ευτεροβάθµια εκπαίδευση από το 1993. Το 2000 επιλέχθηκε από το ΥΠΕΠΘ για µεταπτυχιακή εξειδίκευση στην Παιδαγωγική Αξιοποίηση των Τ.Π.Ε. (Πανεπιστήµιο Μακεδονίας) και λειτούργησε ως επιµορφωτής στα πλαίσια του έργου Ο∆ΥΣΣΕΙΑ (2000-1) και στα πλαίσια του προγράμματος της Ενδοσχολικής Επιμόρφωσης στις ΤΠΕ (2001-3), επιμορφώνοντας και υποστηρίζοντας καθηγητές ξένων γλωσσών στη χρήση και αξιοποίηση των ΤΠΕ.

 Από το 2004 έως το 2010 συνεργάστηκε με το Ευρωπαϊκό Σχολικό Δίκτυο – European Schoolnet, ως Παιδαγωγικός Σύμβουλος της Ελλάδας για τα Ευρωπαϊκά προγράμματα «Άνοιξη της Ευρώπης» (http://www.springday2010.net) και «Linking & Learning Europe» (http://myeurope.eun.org). Επίσης, είναι συνεργάτης του Ερευνητικού Ακαδημαϊκού Ινστιτούτου Τεχνολογίας Υπολογιστών (ΕΑΙΤΥ) σε διάφορα ερευνητικά προγράμματα – τελευταία συνεργασία ήταν στα πλαίσια των έργων «Ψηφιακό Σχολείο και Φωτόδεντρο».

Από το 2007 έχει περάσει στο χώρο της εκπαίδευσης ενηλίκων ως καθηγητής Αγγλικών και από την τρέχουσα χρονιά (2014-15) ως διευθυντής στο Σχολείο Δεύτερης Ευκαιρίας Βόλου.

Dr Thomaï Alexiou is a Lecturer at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She holds an MA in TEFL from Canterbury Christ Church University and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Wales Swansea, UK. She has taught English as a foreign language for about 10 years in Greece and Britain. She currently teaches courses in methodology of language teaching, pedagogical foundations in learning a foreign language, current communicative approaches (at the undergraduate level) and research methods in applied linguistics (at the postgraduate level). Since her employment she has been involved in research projects focusing mainly on issues relating to young and very young learners. She is also the coordinator of the Module ‘Teaching English to Young Learners’ (at the postgraduate level) at the Hellenic Open University.

Her research interests concern cognitive development and individual differences in foreign language learning for very young learners while her expertise is on early foreign language learning, methodology of teaching languages to young learners (preschool and primary education), and material development for very young learners. She is the co-writer of Magic book – the course book and components for the 3^rd grade of State primary schools. The title of her presentation is ‘Entering the world of Magic Books’.

Yiota Koufopoulou is an EFL teacher and a psychologist with experience in various teaching contexts. She has 2 BAs: One in English Language Studies and one in Psychology (both from the University of Athens) and she is currently working towards her MEd in TESOL (Hellenic Open University). She has also got a BTCE Advanced Professional Diploma in Learning Difficulties and Behavioural Problems (EDEXCEL- ΚΕΚ ΑΚΜΗ) and has also done a Methodology 1 & 2 course about Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in the Hellenic American Union.

She has worked in the private sector and public schools and has presented in several conferences. She has participated in European projects, in Health in Education projects; she has also done translations and has been a language specialist in the Athens Olympics (2004) among other things.

She is particularly interested in the areas of learning difficulties, differentiated instruction, cognitive psychology and edutainment.

The title of her presentation is: "Intergrating games in the EFL classroom: what happened when Goliath Appointed Motivated Educators Sailors in Neverland"
